Restoring of the Threshing Floor Pt 1

Updated: Jan 9, 2020

Day 5

When the words “threshing floor” is mentioned, there are typically two groups of people. Group one - know exactly what you are talking about as they have read/studied it in the Bible or heard it preached in a sermon. The second group - are likely to respond “the threshing what”. Then there is a third group - those who have heard it, read it etc but don't apply it to their lives. I want to speak to all the groups today. The threshing floor is found many times in the Bible with one of the first mentions in Genesis 50: 10-11.

“In biblical days there was no machinery, so after the harvest, the grain was separated from the straw and husks by beating it manually. First, there had to be a flat surface that was smooth and hard, and this was known as the threshing floor. The process of threshing was performed generally by spreading the sheaves on the threshing floor and causing oxen and cattle to tread repeatedly over them, loosening the edible part of cereal grain (or other crops) from the scaly, inedible chaff that surrounds it.” ( quoted from got questions)

As I was preparing, and spending time with the Lord to hear the word for today, He revealed the following life-changing statement - “The Threshing Floor is not for war, it is for the counsel of God to be downloaded”. My God, did your spirit just leap too!!

Then He led me to the following scriptures:

David Builds an Altar (2 Samuel 24:18-28)

18Then the angel of the LORD ordered Gad to tell David to go up and build an altar to the LORD on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite. 19So David went up at the word that Gad had spoken in the name of the LORD.

20Now Ornan was threshing wheat when he turned and saw the angel; and his four sons who were with him hid themselves. 21David came to Ornan, and when Ornan looked out and saw David, he left the threshing floor and bowed facedown before David.

22Then David said to Ornan, “Grant me the site of this threshing floor, that I may build an altar to the LORD. Sell it to me for the full price, so that the plague upon the people may be halted.”

I just want to highlight a few pieces of manna:

Vs 18 and 19 Then the angel of the LORD ordered Gad to tell David to go up and build an altar to the LORD on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite. 19So David went up at the word that Gad had spoken in the name of the LORD.

  • In this divine timing in your life, God is ordering specific people to speak to your spirit man. But not just to speak, they have been assigned from the Heavenly courts to give you specific instructions.

  • These people are not just coming with the natural realm word, but a spirit-led, spirit-filled, spirit of God's word. Life-altering, destiny changing, dream and vision fulfilling Word.

  • It is time for you to Go Up and build. Not just one or the other but BOTH!

  • An altar represents sacrifice, worship, sustenance, adoration and an acknowledgment, all at the same time.

Vs 22 Then David said to Ornan, “Grant me the site of this threshing floor, that I may build an altar to the LORD. Sell it to me for the full price, so that the plague upon the people may be halted.”

  • This time when you establish or re-establish your threshing floor, dedicate it to the Lord.

  • Dedicate it for the place of prayer, worship and receiving. No complaining, begging, whining, or warfare. Why? So any and everything that's not Him will be halted.

Hear ye oh child of God “The Threshing Floor is not for war, it is for the counsel of God to be downloaded”. It is time for you to hear, not only from the throne room but the throne itself!

Part 2 coming tomorrow!
